Awkwafina
Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and performer who started her career through innovative raps which addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. Later, she began the classical and hip-hop genres. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies, and then studied women's studies and journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. It wasn't until she graduated that she begin to concentrate on music. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also contained viral hits such as the body positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. The single that debuted was directly connected to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. She decided to pursue acting as a profession following the completion of her previous two endeavors, author and musician. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough roles included Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP,"In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
