Antonia Lofaso

Chef Antonia Lofaso's cuisine is an invitation to explore the depths of her interior world. She began to be interested in food following her move from suburban Long Island to the diverse cultural landscape of Los Angeles. Her belief that cavatelli as well as carnitas may co-exist effortlessly on the same menu conveys a sensibility which is constantly growing. Lofaso, Sal Aurora, and Mario Guddemi partnered to open Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City in the year 2011. With Black Market and the business partnership she created, Lofaso finally found a place to call home. The collaboration could provide creativity and freedom Lofaso was looking for. Black Market does not have one direction which is the reason why it was created. The course could start with potato chips dill and shishito peppers followed by a lobster roll Korean wings and a series of meatballs. What binds this diverse variety of tastes is Antonia. In her long career Lofaso has measured her successes by her innate ability to connect with her viewers while remaining true to her personal style. She's been on of a variety of television shows for instance Top Chef Chicago, Top Chef: All Stars as well as Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child on The Food Network and ABC's Real O'neals. Her talents are still being showcased in her role as a judge on the CNBC show Restaurant Startup. In 2012, Lofaso worked with Penguin to release The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Cooking Ideas for Delicious Home-cooked Meals The book also tells about the struggles she had to overcome while attending the elite French Culinary Institute, and also raising her child Xea. Lofaso believes that the motivation for her achievements is rooted in cooking and it's through this vein that she keeps her a firm finger on the pulse.
